When you manager sends you an article about eating and exercise, you should exercise caution in responding negatively, lest you end up eating your words.
Try to look at the action he took and the possible motives behind it. He sent an article to all members of the management and supervisory team. It sounds like he did not single anyone out, nor did he use an accusatory mode or embarrass anyone. There was apparently no threat or demand associated with this article; it was strictly informational.
You indicated that you do not mind articles on supervision, but, in the president's mind, this article may be just that. When people eat properly and take care of themselves, they are often more productive, especially when reductions in illness and absence are considered. It is also possible the president believes that some extra attention in this area might help with medical insurance premiums in the future.
Or, perhaps the president sent this out of the goodness of his heart, whether in the literal or figurative sense. He just might want everyone to feel better. You should take it for what it's worth, and it's not worth an incident.
